The STR340 SFI (Struck FASTBUS Interface) is a popular VME to FASTBUS interface, which was developed by Tino Häupke, one of the SIS managers, in 1995. As COTS (commercial of the shelf) product the SFI comes with 1, 2 or 3 VME slots. In very special experimental setups a fourth VME slot in conjunction with high power on the internal VME backplane may be an issue. To meet the requirements of one of the SFI users with these requirements, we designed an upgrade kit, which can be used to bring 1, 2 or 3 VME slot SFIs to 4 VME slots. The resulting unit has a width of 6 FASTBUS slots, what leaves the user of a standard crate with 20 slots for the use with frontend modules.
